Anyone that has ever had a problem with mice in their home knows just how much of a menace they can be. It is natural to want to get rid of these creatures, and I have compiled a list of the best ways that you can use to get rid of mice in your home.
Use Of Mothballs
Mothballs are a very cost effective way of getting rid of mice. Take the mothballs and strategically put them in areas around the house where the mice are most likely to have inhabited. These are pipes and cracks around the house. The drainage system and sewers are also the key areas to look out for. Be cautious however because mothballs have very poisonous substances. Ensure that your house is properly ventilated before using such means.
Use Rat Poison
Rat poisons contain various chemicals that have specifically been made to kill rodents. The use of rat poison is very effective as it will ensure that all mice and rats in your house are eliminated. Take caution however if you have pets such as cats and dogs because they too will be affected by these chemicals.
Repellents
If you are not big on using traps or strong chemicals to get rid of mice, then you might opt for a more humane way by choosing to use the mouse repellent. A good example of a mouse repellant is peppermint oil. Put some peppermint oil on cotton balls and place them in areas that mice are likely to have inhabited. This will ensure that they are kept away. Unlike human beings, mice find the smell of peppermint to be quite overwhelming, and this will ensure that they stay away.
Natural Means
You will find that a mouse is a prey to some other animals and even pets. The most notable one is the cat. If you have a cat or are capable of getting one and you have mice problems in your house then, by all means, go for it. Cats are very effective when it comes to getting rid of mice.
Dryer sheets
This is a method that I had personally used when I had a mouse problem. I realized that mice resent the smell of dryer sheets. If your house in infested then lay out the dryer sheets in the problem areas. After some time you will notice a decrease in mice and mice droppings. Replace the dryer sheets when their smell begins to fade.
